The Decker's Adoption Journey

This is our story in starting our very own family through international adoption. We will be adopting an infant (or two) from Kazakhstan. Hopefuly we will be traveling this spring to meet and bring home our little one(s). We hope that by reading our story you are able to follow our journey and learn about the process of adoption.

We have a due date!!!

We have found out that our Letter of Invitation has been sent from Kazakhstan and that we can be there on April 15th. This is great news as apparently they are not issuing any more LOI’s for a while. We are so thrilled to finally know when this journey to parenthood will end and when our lives as new parents will begin. It looks like I will teach this coming up week and then we will do all of our last minuet preparations and leave for Seattle early the next week. We can not make our plane reservations quite yet. We have been reminded that the LOI must be in hand before we make those reservations, yet I don’t foresee too many more hurdles to clear before we get to meet our little one(s). It is surreal to us both that this is finaly happening. I don’t know when the reality of it all will hit me. Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts. They are definitely working.

You will definately see us. We are planning on comming to Seattle on Wednesday the 11th so that we can do some last minuet shopping on Thursday before leaving. I'm glad to hear that Olivia is looking forward to a new cousin(s). My neices in Alabama ask everyday when we are going to pick them up. Soon, my sister keeps telling them, soon.

This is very very good news!!! CONGRATULATIONS, you have got to be so excited. I too am waiting for my travel dates so perhaps we will meet in Kazakhstan!

I am planning on going to Almaty, where are you going? Also, we don't have our LOI yet and you mentioned they're not issuing new one's for a while. Where did you hear that from and for how long? I swear we learn from each other more than from our agencies! :)

Congratulations again, may you meet you little one soon.
