This is our story in starting our very own family through international adoption. We will be adopting an infant (or two) from Kazakhstan. Hopefuly we will be traveling this spring to meet and bring home our little one(s). We hope that by reading our story you are able to follow our journey and learn about the process of adoption.

Half way through the homestudy!!

So we have had our official homestudy visit and we are almost out of the woods. It was so much easier that we thought it would be. Our social worker was great and very informative. We even learned that most children adopted from Kazakhstan are potty trained by 8-10 months old. That sure is a neat perk. Other than the home visit we are in the process of amassing every possible piece of paperwork about our lives. It is sort of like a big giant scavenger hunt and the prize is a baby.

The Joys of Paperwork

10-15-06
Here we go on our jorney to start our family. We have made lots of important decisions this last month including picking an agency, a country to adopt from and the age of our child(ren) to be. Now we have hit the ground running by collecting our vital records, scheduling physicals, getting our house ready for the homestudy visit, renewing our pasports and sending off the I-600A.
