The Decker's Adoption Journey

This is our story in starting our very own family through international adoption. We will be adopting an infant (or two) from Kazakhstan. Hopefuly we will be traveling this spring to meet and bring home our little one(s). We hope that by reading our story you are able to follow our journey and learn about the process of adoption.

What a good day

We were told that he would sleep through the night, and it was true. He is doing well concidering the changes that he has gone through in the last day. Thank you all so much for the well wishes. It is always nice to know that people are still following along. For the Grant County folks we should be home on the 16th or 17th if all goes well in Almaty and Seattle.

I thought I would post more pictures since I know this has been what you have all wanted for a long time.

Thanks for posting more photos! He's such a cutie pie.

We love the picture of Emerson looking into Karon's eyes...and the one at the bottom, when he's looking under Karon's hair. He's so aware for being so young.

Can't wait to see'm in person! :-)

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!! What a thrill to bring him "home" to your hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner, (diapers diapers diapers!!!) Hopefully you are OUT of there today or tomorrow for the flight across the country? And that the passport is ready and waiting! For all the joy, we need to also remember that now there are others, the caregivers, who are patching up a hole or two in their hearts to tell him 'good-bye'...do they have a picture board in the Baby House, where pictures are on display from years later, as the children grow up all over the world? If not, perhaps you will be the family that starts such??? Good wishes again, to start your save return home...another gray and rainy day in Grant County, just the thing to end the school year on, eh!!!

I'm sitting here at my desk at school, looking at the pictures, and I'm overwhelmed at the goodness of God! He had this planned for you from the beginning, and His blessings are great for those who do His will. Know that you have been covered with his grace and mercy this entire time, and also know that you are about to become a blessing and witness for those around you as you bring little Jonathan Emerson Decker back to Grant County to meet those who have been praying for him. We'll keep praying for your safe trip home, and for the beginning of the rest of your life as a family. I'm so happy that this dream has come true, and I'm even happier that there has been a child awaiting YOUR arrival as his parents! Take care, and see you soon!

Grandmom and Poppa Decker..

what a beautiful family. Emerson is the best boy! His name is great and Jeff is such a proud Uncle. Also, John Emerson, whom Jeff was named after was a really wonderful man...deeply spiritual and with a love of life and family. Poppa's great grandfather..

and then there was Waldo..

Come home soon so we can all smother him and you with love.

We are so proud of you both, Karon and John, for making this hard journey a real adventure. Because of your giving hearts, you have had great favor.

Your love for Emerson just pours out of the pictures...

You will be leaving many friends behind. But we expect that some of them will be visiting you here in n the US.

Fishing is getting good all over the waters this year, John.. Jason picked up a 25 inch rainbow yesterday.

Reminded me of the one you caught, John, in Sun Valley that was longer than your lower leg. You held him knee high and his tail was laying out on the ground.

God Bless you both.. we will continue to pray for traveling favor and ease.

I can't stop crying reading these posts and the responses. That little boy has already stolen all of our hearts, that is for sure! You won't be surprised, Karon, to hear that Aunt Helen was boohooing as I was reading her the blog from yesterday. And Sister Pine and I were shedding a few tears as I told her the story ~ she, too, is adopted, so it is very special for her to hear about things from this end.

Cannot wait to see you all soon.

Love,
Sharron

We congratulate you on your unending patience (although it felt like forever) and your love for each other and Emerson is inspiring. What a home this little one has. Wish we could meet him soon. We will continue to keep you covered in prayer for the last leg of an incredible journey! I would love to help you with a baby manual, but every baby comes with his/her very own, individualized manual, so you may well have to "translate" his manual as you go! It won't be long until you and John will be the only two people that will REALLY be able to know his manual! Take care, and God's blessings on you! "Grandma" Georgia
